When learning a language, this might be something you need to learn even before introducing yourself.

Now, it is time to learn how to respond in Korean.

Shall we learn just five simple phrases?


Positive Responses

Korean:

Dictionary Pronunciation: Ne

Easy Pronunciation: Neh

Sounds good / Okay

Korean: 좋아요

Dictionary Pronunciation: Jo-a-yo

Easy Pronunciation: Joa-yo

I’ll take that one, please

Korean: 그걸로 주세요

Dictionary Pronunciation: Geu-geol-lo ju-se-yo

Easy Pronunciation: gul-lo joo-say-O


Negative Responses

No

Korean: 아니요

Dictionary Pronunciation: A-ni-yo

Easy Pronunciation: ah-nyo

It’s okay / No, thank you

Korean: 괜찮아요

Dictionary Pronunciation: Gwaen-chan-a-yo

Easy Pronunciation: ken-cha-na-yo

“Neh(네)” can be used in many different ways.

So if you do not really understand what the other person is saying, you can just smile and say, “neh…… :)” and gently move on.
